Rather than restrict itself to ion channels conventionally termed LGICs (namely the cys-loop, ionotropic Glutamate, and P2X families of ion channels) this page refers to all ion channels that are gated by diffusible ligands. Thus it will eventually include TRPV receptors, Acid-sensing Ion Channels, and also endoplasmic reticular ion channels such as the inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate and ryanodine receptors.
