Questioning my credentials...

It's a terrible thing when a Doctor of Science is barely competent enough to operate his own weblog. In my defence, I've been using blog-city for my alter ego's blog, which has a considerably more user/luddite-friendly interface.

As for the Introduction that was here a few days ago, its disappearance is definitely one for Mulder and Scully to ponder. I'm buggered if I know what I did to it. In hindsight, I was fooling around with it using an archaic version of Explorer, which wasn't entirely compatible with blogspot, when everything seemed to go tits-up... Hmm...

It wasn't that important anyway.

In the meantime, I suggest everybody download a copy of PyMOL to play with. I think it's probably the best freeware molecular modelling tool out there at the moment. Whether you're a molecular biologist or not, it's fun to fool around with. You can download the necessary .pdb files from here. The KcsA and MscL channels are my personal favourites. I liked to have them rotating wistfully on my large, fancy flatscreen monitor whenever we have visitors. It looks a whole lot more exciting than the interface of IgorPro, that's for sure.
